GUEST SERVICES MANAGER
Position Summary: The Guest Services Manager reports to the Director of Retail Sales.
This position is responsible for achieving high customer satisfaction levels and supervising all sales personnel in exceeding the Museum’s business sales objectives.
Provides daily operations and personnel management and moderately complex technical and customer assistance and other retail, administrative and office program support as required, including overseeing the promotion of merchandise, safe and effective use of floor space, layout and displays.
Ensures that all admissions and retail personnel are fully trained and cross-trained on all applicable agency and division policies and procedures.
On a typical business day, the Guest Services Manager interacts with internal and external customers, demonstrates leadership and offers guidance to other retail and admissions personnel, monitors and performs store opening and end-of-day procedures and deposits and actively works to maintain well-organized and clean stores.
Supervises the overall operations of the Museum Admissions desk.
Responsibilities:
- This position is responsible for overseeing all monetary deposits for the primary ticket sales.
- This includes overseeing leads in their duties (which include preparing the theater for daily operations, checking the security of building, turning on/off all AV equipment and computers).
- Responsible for insuring that daily financial reports are completed and the Theater operates smoothly. Supervises staff and ensures that they are completing their assigned takes and duties, first aid issues (of both staff and guests), manages any unforeseen situations such as, robbery, fire, theft, alarm testing, power outages, lightning strikes and elevator repairs, coordinates theater operations when technical difficulties alter schedule.
- Directly supervise in a visible and active manner, monitor and review leads, cashiers and host staff to insure smooth operation and quality customer service in all areas of the department. Reinforce department policy and promote up selling of combination tickets through incentives, encouragement, coaching, warning and applying disciplinary action if necessary.
- Demonstrate and sustain consistently high standards of customer service by staff, with visitors and fellow staff members by providing first class customer service as detailed in the department standards.
- Deal calmly and pleasantly in stressful situations and address visitor concerns in an appropriate manner. Interview and hire candidates for employment; train lead cashiers and hosts and approve staff shift assignments on a daily basis.
- Prepare the cashier and IMAX staffing schedule in conjunction with the other departments. Oversee all reserved ticket preparation.
- Performs other position related duties as assigned. Work hours may include weekends, evenings and/or holidays, including on short notice.

Minimum Qualifications:
The successful candidate for this position will have one year of prior retail experience as a management trainee or 2-3 years working in a retail sales environment, including stocking, inventory, POS management (front and back office), cash handling and store closeout procedures. Demonstrated knowledge of routine methods used in shipping, receiving, store, and issuing stock and basic bookkeeping is also required. Must be available to work most Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess additional retail experience and be bilingual in Spanish and English.

LEAD WAITPERSON
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that guest receive prompt, friendly and personalize service. Suggestively sells food and beverage items by possessing knowledge of menu items and ingredients. Ensures that orders are taken and placed accurately, checks on tables, provide condiments, replenish drinks and/or bread.
- Follows cash handling procedures including the ability to operate cash register system.
- Maintains positive guest satisfaction by answering questions, accommodating special requests, appropriately handles to complaints to the guests’ satisfaction and/or solicits assistances from the managers.
- Pre-buses tables, maintains area, organize and clean service stands and complete side work.
- Follow procedures to prepare food products for customers, maintain the highest level of product quality and cleanliness.
- Responsible for the cleaning and sanitizing of food preparation area, storage areas, including interior and exterior of restaurant, equipment, and utensils.
- Prepare orders of some menu items such as sandwiches and soups
- Supervises other waitpersons to ensure quality of service
- Familiar with Point of Sale Register to teach others
- Perform other duties as assigned.

COOK
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, season, and cook stock, soup, sauces, meats, vegetables, desserts and other foodstuffs
- Read menu to estimate food requirements and procure it from storage
- Adjust thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, roasters and steam kettles
- Formulate and prepare complex recipes, including bakery/pastry recipes and high-end specialty desserts for banquets and restaurant
- Measure and mix ingredients according to recipe, using kitchen utensils and equipment (blenders, mixers, grinders, slicers, and tenderizers) to prepare soups, salads, gravies, desserts, sauces, and casseroles
- Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods
- Add seasoning to foods during mixing or cooking according to personal judgment and experience
- Observe and test food being cooked by tasting, smelling, and piercing with fork
- Clean kitchen equipment and practice all HACCP procedures.

EDUCATION COORDINATOR
Job Description: Education Coordinator; Discovery Ambassadors & Museum Programs
Responsibilities:
- Develops and delivers the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum's educational and learning program to elementary and secondary schools, either informally or based on the curriculum.
- Coordinates and Develops Discovery Ambassadors (Youth Volunteers)
- Essential Functions:
- Develops, implements, and evaluates education programs that interpret the collections of the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum and special exhibitions for school-aged audiences.
- Works as a liaison with schools, organizing visits and delivering on-site educational sessions. Identifies key areas for adding value to school visits and developing curriculum resources.
- Keeps up to date with curriculum developments, ensuring that education programs are relevant to the state curriculum.
- Works with volunteer docents to develop, implement, and evaluate gallery education program, as well as programs for special exhibitions.
- Recruits, trains and schedules Discovery Ambassadors for specialized docent programs including aircraft tours and interactive exhibit supervision
- Researches, develops, and produces a broad variety of written and interpretive materials (brochures, flyers, program guides, web content etc.) designed for school-aged children, as well as for educators across a range of subject areas.
- Coordinates and/or provides lectures and guided tours.
- Plans, develops, and evaluates tour services for school age audiences and promotes school tour programs to educational and tourism communities.
- Organizes practical demonstrations, role plays, story-telling sessions and other related activities. Arranges events to enhance visitor enjoyment and understanding.
- Works with other museum staff to develop and market the museum and events.
- Manages budgets, applies for grants, and participates in associated fund-raising.
- Represents the Museum at conferences, symposia, and community events, related to school-aged audiences. Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Education or History, or related is required;. 3 years of teaching experience is required. Must possess excellent verbal and written communications skills, including strong editing skills. Must have strong organizational skills, and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and independently, balancing multiple priorities. Strong computer skills, including MS Office required, and advanced computer skills are preferred.
This position will be based in a busy office environment and be subject to frequent interruption. This position also requires a great deal of interaction with the public in person and via other means of communication. Weekend work may be required as well as overnights.
Must be able to lift and carry file boxes and other awkward items weighing up to 50 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday; on days when there is programming, standing and walking for 8+ hours a day should be expected. Must be able to see and hear, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
