Welcome to the Library and Archives Resource Center
The Library and Archives collections are prized treasures of the Institute
and many items are irreplaceable. The Library is maintained for the
purpose of
historical and academic research. It is solely a reference library
and is available to the public only by appointment.
We
actively collect library and research material to compliment our
educational mission. The Institute collects, preserves and interprets
the history of aviation culture through its collections, educational
programs, exhibits, research projects, library and archives.
We invite you to consider us a worthy repository for your aviation
related objects, such as aircraft, armament, art, literature, maps,
memorabilia, photos, personal papers and equipment, power plants,
uniforms, vehicles and so forth. To offer items of historical aviation
interest to the Institute, please contact a collections department
staff member. We are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and as
such, your contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed
by law.

The museum seeks excellence and credibility by striving to meet
the accreditation standards of the American Association of Museums.
The Institute adheres to a Board approved collection management
policy that spells out the management of our collections, in order
to ensure adequate responsibility for their safety, proper care
and appropriate use.
Access to the Museum Archives, the Evergreen Corporate Archives
and the Photo Archives is through the Collections Department staff
by appointment only. The user must complete a Research Library Usage
Form.
